Fat Transfer in Turkey: Prices, Treatment Areas and Recovery

Fat Transfer in Turkey: Prices, Treatment Areas and Recovery

Fat transfer in Turkey uses your own fat to add volume or improve contour in another part of the body. You may also see it called fat grafting, lipofilling or lipomodelling. The operation involves both the area where fat is collected and the area receiving it.

A small facial treatment and breast or buttock augmentation are different operations. They need different assessments, safety discussions and recovery plans. Start by naming the area you want changed and the result you would consider worthwhile.

Prices checked on 28 October 2026 include a published Turkish facial-treatment guide of TRY 90,000–180,000 for limited areas and a separate practice’s €4,000 breast fat-transfer package. These describe different treatments and providers. They are not a national average or a Sevclinic quotation.

Fat Transfer in Turkey: Prices, Treatment Areas and Recovery

What is fat transfer, and what can it change?

The surgeon collects fat from a donor area, prepares it and places it in a recipient area. Common donor sites include the abdomen, flanks or thighs. The choice depends on available tissue, previous surgery and the amount needed.

Planning fat transfer in Turkey means considering those two areas together. Having enough fat to collect does not mean every desired volume can be placed safely. The receiving tissues also need to support the graft.

Fat grafting can address selected volume loss, asymmetry or contour depressions. It is not a weight-loss operation, and collecting a small amount of fat may make little visible difference to the donor area. Discuss donor-site reshaping separately if that is also a goal.

It also does not remove a large fold of loose skin. Filling, lifting and skin removal address different problems. An examination helps establish which contributes most to the appearance you want to change.

Facial fat transfer

Facial treatment may be discussed for selected hollows in the cheeks, temples or other areas. Under-eye concerns need particular care: a hollow, a bag, pigmentation and loose skin are different findings. Adding volume is not the right answer to all of them.

If your main interest is fat transfer in Turkey for the face, our guide to facial volume restoration with your own fat focuses on that assessment. Ask what will improve, what will remain unchanged and how the surgeon approaches facial vascular risks.

Breast fat grafting

ASPS describes breast fat grafting as an option for a relatively small increase in size. It can also be considered for selected contour differences or alongside other breast procedures. A precise cup-size result should not be guaranteed.

Discuss breast symptoms, previous surgery and personal or family history before treatment. Screening and any necessary investigation should follow your clinical assessment. A new lump needs evaluation rather than being assumed suitable for cosmetic filling.

Hands and contour corrections

Selected hand-volume loss or a depression after earlier surgery may be considered for grafting. The cause and tissue condition need assessment first. Explain which activities matter to you, including work that depends on comfortable hand movement.

Buttock fat transfer and BBL

Buttock fat transfer is commonly called a Brazilian butt lift. It has specific, potentially life-threatening safety concerns. Our detailed guide to BBL surgery and gluteal fat-transfer safety covers that procedure separately.

Current multisociety recommendations support placing fat above the gluteal fascia in the subcutaneous tissues, with real-time ultrasound guidance during placement. Ask the operating surgeon to explain the technique and safety arrangements. Those precautions reduce avoidable risk; they do not make the operation risk-free.

How fat grafting is performed

A clean preparation counter with covered instruments, closed containers and a compact centrifuge

The plan for fat transfer in Turkey should name the donor sites, recipient areas and any additional surgery. The anaesthetic may be local, with or without sedation, or general, depending on the extent of treatment and the clinical assessment.

Collecting the fat

The surgeon uses liposuction through small skin openings to collect tissue. The amount required for a facial treatment may differ greatly from a larger body procedure. Previous liposuction and donor-site irregularities should be discussed beforehand.

Our explanation of how fat-removal surgery affects donor areas helps distinguish harvesting from a full contouring plan. Removing more tissue simply to have more available is not, by itself, a sensible treatment goal.

Preparing the tissue

The collected fat is processed to separate it from unwanted fluid and other material. Preparation methods vary. Ask the surgeon what is being used and why it fits the treatment, rather than assuming that a particular machine guarantees better survival.

Placing the graft

The prepared tissue is placed in the agreed area. The transferred fat needs support from the surrounding tissue and its blood supply. Some survives and some is reabsorbed during healing.

Operating time and discharge arrangements follow the actual plan. A small treatment may be a day case, while more extensive surgery can require hospital observation. Ask about the total anaesthetic time if another operation is included.

How much fat survives, and how long do results last?

There is no single reliable survival percentage for everyone having fat transfer in Turkey. Retention varies with the recipient area, tissue characteristics, technique and healing. A quoted percentage should come with an explanation of the patients, treatment and follow-up behind it.

The early appearance includes swelling as well as grafted volume. As swelling settles and some fat is reabsorbed, the shape changes. An immediate photograph cannot establish the final result.

Surviving grafted fat can provide long-lasting volume, but it remains responsive to weight changes. Significant weight gain or loss can alter the result. Ageing continues too, so “lasting” should not be confused with an unchanging appearance.

A further session may be discussed if more volume or refinement is appropriate. Ask when the tissues will be reassessed, what would justify another procedure and whether the cost is separate. Do not assume a top-up is either inevitable or free.

Who is a candidate for fat transfer in Turkey?

A candidate for fat transfer in Turkey generally needs adequate donor tissue, suitable recipient tissues and health that supports surgery and healing. A reasonably stable weight, nonsmoking and realistic expectations are important considerations.

Being very slim can limit the available supply, especially for larger-volume goals. Deliberately gaining weight just to meet an advertised volume is not a substitute for an individual plan. Ask what smaller change or alternative might be appropriate.

Explain previous operations, injections, implants and any difficulties with healing. Tell the surgeon about medicines, allergies, smoking, vaping, clot history and relevant medical conditions. Changes made in another clinic may affect the assessment.

Weight-management treatment and nutrition

If you have lost substantial weight, discuss whether further loss is expected. Weight-management medicines and bariatric surgery can also make nutrition part of the preparation. The team may recommend testing or dietetic input if deficiencies are suspected.

When hanging skin is the main concern, skin-removal planning after major weight loss may be more relevant than adding volume alone. Some people need a staged approach that addresses both concerns.

Breast cancer treatment and reconstructive use

Fat grafting can have a reconstructive role, including selected breast-contour problems after treatment. That requires coordination with the relevant breast or oncology team. A cosmetic package should not be used to bypass assessment of symptoms, imaging or treatment history.

How much does fat transfer in Turkey cost?

A blank quotation clipboard, notebook and wallet on a consultation desk

The cost of fat transfer in Turkey depends first on the recipient area and the extent of harvesting. Anaesthesia, facility, follow-up and any combined surgery then affect the total. A single “fat injection” price is not meaningful without those details.

These references were checked on 28 October 2026. They use different currencies and describe different procedures. They do not support a simple percentage-saving claim, and none is a Sevclinic quotation.

For breast-specific planning, breast enhancement using transferred fat needs its own quote. Confirm whether both breasts, the agreed donor sites and a possible later session are covered.

What should the written quote include?

Compare the full commitment rather than a headline price. A small facial top-up should not be compared directly with bilateral breast grafting or BBL. Keep a reserve for extra care or a longer stay if needed.

Cosmetic treatment is often excluded from insurance. Reconstructive use may be considered differently under some policies, but coverage depends on the exact treatment and insurer. Obtain written confirmation for overseas care before relying on reimbursement.

Choosing a fat-transfer surgeon in Turkey

The best surgeon for your fat transfer in Turkey should have relevant specialist training and experience in the particular recipient area. Facial grafting, breast refinement and gluteal augmentation do not have identical risks or technical demands.

Dr Ali Mezdeği has a public Istanbul listing in the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons directory. His own site describes breast fat transfer and publishes a 2026 package price. Use these as starting points for checking identity and discussing the proposed operation.

Dr Ayhan Işık Erdal is named in the society’s specialist notice confirming completion of plastic surgery training at Gazi University in May 2019. His breast fat-transfer practice site describes individual treatment planning and quotations. Confirm current operating arrangements and experience with cases like yours.

These are examples for further checking, without a superiority ranking or an implied Sevclinic affiliation. A professional listing does not independently establish case volume, complication rates or your suitability for treatment.

  • What experience do you have with this recipient area and my previous treatments?
  • What change is realistic, and what would require a different operation?
  • How do you assess vascular risk, donor-site problems and graft loss?
  • Who provides anaesthesia and where will surgery take place?
  • Who will examine me if a lump, vision change or other problem develops?
  • When will results be reassessed, and what does a further session cost?

Our wider guide to checking surgeons and treatment arrangements in Turkey helps organise that conversation. Ask for consented examples with comparable anatomy and a clear follow-up time.

Fat grafting, fillers, implants or a lift?

Fat transfer in Turkey is one way of adding volume, not a replacement for every cosmetic treatment. Your own tissue avoids an implant as the volume source, but the procedure still involves surgery and important risks.

Dermal fillers are a different category. The material, treatment area, expected duration and complication management all need explanation. Do not assume that a package labelled “filler” contains your own fat, or that every product is appropriate for body augmentation.

For a larger breast-volume goal, augmentation with an implant may be considered. Some plans combine an implant and fat for selected contour refinement. That combination also brings implant-specific risks and follow-up requirements.

If the main concern is sagging or nipple position, lifting and reshaping the breast addresses a different issue from adding fat. Ask the surgeon to explain which part of your concern each proposed procedure would treat.

Preparing for the operation

Preparation for fat transfer in Turkey should cover your medical history, both treatment areas and the recovery support you can arrange. Provide a complete list of medicines, supplements and nicotine products. Mention weight-management injections and relevant symptoms.

Obtain specific medication and fasting instructions from the surgical and anaesthetic team. Do not independently stop prescribed blood thinners, diabetes medicines or other treatment. Explain smoking and vaping honestly so the team can advise on cessation and timing.

Ask which examinations or tests are needed for your recipient area. For breast treatment, this includes discussing screening and any previous imaging or symptoms. For facial treatment, disclose earlier fillers, surgery and any existing eye or neurological concerns.

Arrange transport and an adult to help after discharge as required. Choose clothing that is easy to put on without rubbing donor incisions. Confirm who supplies garments and how they should fit.

Get the written care plan before surgery, including the review schedule and emergency contacts. Understanding it in advance is easier than trying to remember unfamiliar instructions immediately after anaesthesia.

Risks: your own fat does not mean risk-free

An empty recovery room with an adjustable hospital bed and companion chair

Safety during fat transfer in Turkey depends on patient selection, recipient anatomy, technique and follow-up. Both the donor site and grafted area can develop problems. Using your own tissue does not remove the possibility of serious complications.

Risks include bleeding, infection, fluid collections, fat necrosis, oil cysts, lumps and contour irregularities. Asymmetry, loss of volume, excessive fullness, sensation changes or visible donor-site changes may occur. Further treatment can be needed.

Clots in the legs or lungs and anaesthetic complications are also part of the consent discussion. Ask how your personal risk is assessed and what preventive measures fit your operation. Do not start clot-prevention medication yourself.

Facial vascular complications

Facial fat injection has rare but severe vascular risks, including loss of vision and stroke. Published clinical reports document these events. Ask specifically about the surgeon’s experience, the proposed areas and access to emergency care.

Sudden vision loss, a new vision change, one-sided weakness or difficulty speaking requires emergency assessment. Do not wait for an online response or attempt self-treatment. Tell emergency clinicians about the recent procedure.

Breast lumps and imaging

Breast grafting can cause fat necrosis, cysts or calcifications. These may create a lump or changes seen on imaging. Tell the breast-imaging team that you have had fat transfer and provide records where available.

A new lump should be evaluated; do not diagnose it as harmless grafted fat yourself. Discuss screening before surgery and continue the follow-up recommended for your age, history and individual risk.

Other warning symptoms

Seek emergency help for sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, collapse or a new abnormal heartbeat. Contact the surgical team promptly for fever, increasing redness, discharge, excessive bleeding or severe or worsening pain.

Know who can examine you locally if a problem appears after returning home. Messaging photographs may support follow-up, but it cannot replace an examination when one is needed.

Recovery after fat transfer in Turkey

Recovery after fat transfer in Turkey depends on the donor sites, recipient area and any combined surgery. Bruising, swelling and soreness can affect both areas. You may feel ready for a quiet task before you feel comfortable appearing at work or a social event.

Cleveland Clinic notes that some people return to usual activities after about a week, while others need two weeks or more. The Aesthetic Society also advises allowing adequate time for facial bruising and swelling. These are planning guides, not personal clearance dates.

StageCommon prioritiesWhat remains individual
First daysPain control, supported movement and incision careDischarge, assistance and the correct resting position
First 1–2 weeksReviews and monitoring donor and recipient areasWork, public-facing duties, garments and daily tasks
Following weeksGradual activity and continued swelling reviewExercise, pressure on grafted areas and travel readiness
Following monthsAssess settled volume and contourWhether further grafting or another treatment is appropriate

Garments, pressure and sleeping

Donor-site compression and recipient-site care may be different. Ask where a garment is needed, how it should fit and which pressure to avoid. Instructions for abdominal liposuction should not automatically be applied to a newly grafted face or breast.

Follow the surgeon’s positioning instructions for the area treated. BBL has particular sitting and pressure considerations, while facial treatment may need a different approach. There is no single sleeping rule for every fat-transfer procedure.

Do not start massage, apply strong pressure or use cold or heat treatments without checking the plan. If you notice a firm area, ask for assessment rather than trying to flatten it yourself.

If grafting is combined with breast augmentation using an implant, obtain recovery instructions for the whole operation. Ask how breast support, movement and review appointments will account for both procedures.

Work, exercise and driving

After fat transfer in Turkey, match your return to work to the real demands of the job. Lifting, long shifts, prolonged sitting and public-facing work create different challenges. Explain those duties before choosing your travel dates.

Restart exercise gradually with clearance. Gentle recovery movement is different from a workout. Driving requires safe movement and reactions without impairing medication, as well as compliance with insurance requirements.

Report new or worsening swelling, pain or skin changes as activity increases. Follow-up should address both the place fat was taken from and the place it was added, even if only one is bothering you.

Follow-up and planning your Istanbul stay

A woman discussing recovery with a clinician holding an unmarked clipboard

Your stay for fat transfer in Turkey should allow the scheduled reviews and a change of plan if healing is slower. A hotel checkout date does not establish that you are medically ready to travel.

The NHS warns that major surgery and flying both increase clot risk. The extent of harvesting, other procedures and your personal health affect planning. Agree the return journey with the treating team rather than borrowing a timetable for another operation.

Ask who reviews wounds, swelling and unexpected lumps before departure and after you go home. Confirm whether a longer stay, local examination or a return visit would be needed if something changes.

Carry an operation summary, medication list and contact details. Check that travel insurance covers planned surgery and its complications; ordinary cover may exclude them. Arrange help with luggage and practical tasks according to your restrictions.

Microfat, nanofat and “stem cell” claims

When comparing fat transfer in Turkey, ask what a technical label actually means for your treatment. Microfat and nanofat describe differently prepared material. They should not be treated as interchangeable promises of the same volume or skin effect.

Nanofat is generally discussed for skin or tissue-quality aims rather than the structural volume provided by conventional grafted fat. A 2025 systematic review and expert consensus found that many applications still lack robust clinical evidence. A premium label does not establish a better result for you.

ASPS distinguishes standard fat grafting from a procedure whose primary goal is collecting, concentrating and using stem cells. Ask what is being proposed, what evidence supports that use and what extra risks or costs apply. Avoid treating the words “regenerative” or “stem cell” as guarantees.

Video: an introduction to facial fat transfer

In Facial Fat Transfer 101: Everything you need to know about getting a fat transfer to the face, Dr Amir Karam — @dramirkaram introduces facial fat grafting. The discussion concerns the face; it does not replace the separate safety assessment needed for breast or buttock surgery.

Frequently asked questions

Is fat transfer permanent?

Some grafted fat may survive long term, while some is reabsorbed. The settled amount varies, and the result can change with weight and ageing. A fixed survival percentage or an unchanged lifetime appearance should not be promised.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on the area, available tissue, goals and healing. Some people need only the planned procedure; others discuss another session after settling. Ask what the first operation can reasonably achieve and how later treatment would be priced.

Can I use someone else’s fat?

The usual autologous fat-transfer procedure uses your own tissue. A donor-derived product is a different proposal and needs a separate explanation of its contents, evidence, regulation and risks. Do not assume it is equivalent because the advertising also uses the word “fat.”

Will the donor area become much slimmer?

Not necessarily. A small facial procedure may need little tissue. If substantial reshaping is also proposed, it should be described and consented separately, with its own recovery implications.

Does fat transfer leave scars?

The openings used for harvesting and placement can leave small scars. Their position and appearance depend on the procedure and healing. A small incision should not be described as a guarantee of scar-free surgery.

How painful is recovery?

Soreness, tenderness and bruising may affect both the donor and recipient areas. Ask what pain relief is prescribed and how to get help if it is insufficient. Severe, sudden or worsening pain needs assessment rather than extra medication taken without advice.

Can fat grafting replace a breast lift?

Adding volume and lifting sagging tissue have different aims. A surgeon may recommend one, both or another approach after examination. Filling alone should not be promised to correct every breast-position concern.

Are lumps always fat necrosis?

No. A lump can have different causes and needs assessment. Do not squeeze, massage or dismiss it based on an online description. Breast lumps in particular should follow an appropriate clinical and imaging pathway.

Plan a consultation around your own priorities

Bring your treatment history, medical details and the change you hope to achieve. Ask for a clear description of both treatment areas, realistic volume expectations, the full price and a recovery plan you can manage.

When considering fat transfer in Turkey, contact Sevclinic with your questions and treatment goals. Understanding the alternatives, limitations and follow-up commitment helps you decide whether the proposed procedure fits your needs.
